Dr. Nilkanta Fernandopulle Ph.D (Imago Therapy) is a distinguished Counselor, Imago International Training Institute Faculty member, and Energy Healer with over 25 years of extensive experience in interactive therapy and coaching within the realm of social services.

With a profound integration of Energy Healing and Imago Therapy, Dr. Fernandopulle obtained his Ph.D through the Open International University of Complementary Medicine, showcasing his dedication to holistic approaches to healing and well-being.

Beginning his journey in Sri Lanka, Dr. Fernandopulle embarked on a career as a Radio Technician at the Department of Civil Aviation. His expertise then led him to a remarkable tenure of 14 years at Cable & Wireless London, based in Doha, from 1979 to 1993.

Returning to Sri Lanka, Dr. Fernandopulle’s unwavering commitment to serving society propelled him into the field of counseling and social services, commencing in 1997. His active involvement in counseling resulted in prestigious roles, including President and Vice President of the Sri Lanka National Association of Counselors between 2008-2016.

For close to a decade, Dr. Fernandopulle has lent his expertise to the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Defense, serving as a counselor for juvenile courts, remand homes for boys and girls, and welfare homes for disabled soldiers.

Dedicated to continual education, Dr. Fernandopulle pursued a BA in Social Sciences from the Open University of Colombo, a Post Graduate Diploma in Counseling and Psychosocial Support from the University of Colombo, and a degree in Therapeutic Counseling from The Open International University of Complementary Medicine, Colombo.

His global impact extends to leadership roles in research and training, such as heading the Oxford University Research project on ‘Suicide Prevention’ in Southern Sri Lanka and collaborating with the American Non-Profit Organization ‘Love146’ on a TOT (Train the Trainer) assignment in the Philippines in 2014.

Dr. Fernandopulle’s international exposure includes training sessions and workshops across various countries, further enriching his expertise in academia. He founded ‘Love4Lanka’, aimed at educating caregivers, teachers, and parents in the prevention of child abuse and exploitation.

Currently, Dr. Fernandopulle serves as the Founder and Director of “Counselors and Complementary Therapists Sri Lanka” and “IMAGO SRI LANKA”, pioneering Imago Therapy (Relationship therapy) as the sole certified teacher in Sri Lanka accredited by its body in the USA. Additionally, he practices as a Certified Imago Relationship Therapist and Energy Healer.
